Members can buy the eggs at the Pet Shop in Pet Town to get pets. For nonmembers, the only way to get pets is to buy the Magic Codes with Ecoins.
I strongly advise you to buy the Rocki pet from the Cosmos family. (Go to my New Pet! post for reasons)
To buy the pet using Magic Codes:
1. Go to either Pet Town or your barn, and click on this
2. Choose a pet and choose the 1 hour code (the other ones are more expensive)
3. Go to your barn. Click on the Magic Code, and use it. Come back 1 hour later, and your pet will have hatched!
4. Take it outside with you! Just click on your pet and select “Bring outside”. If you are not a member it doesn't work. Like me. Sorry! ):
